1. Regarding men’s tournament geographic eligibility, would you prefer:
A) Teams can ONLY use players from within a 50-mile radius; NO EXCEPTIONS.
B) Teams can use whoever they want from wherever they want.
C) Teams can use players from within a 50-mile radius; 2 exceptions per
roster.
D) Teams can use players from within a 50-mile radius; players previously
used are grandfathered in; NO NEW EXCEPTIONS.

2. Regarding the segregation of men’s tournaments into different levels of
competition, do you prefer:
A) All teams being lumped together.
B) All teams being lumped together at the start of the tournament, then
separating for playoffs according to round-robin standings.
C) Teams being separated according to caliber and experience at the start of
the tournament; i.e. A, C, D, Novice divisions.

3. Should profits from men’s tournaments be used to:
A) Lower entry fees.
B) Give more/better prizes.
C) Finance U.S. national teams.
D) That should be solely to the discretion of the tournament organizer.

4. Do you prefer:
A) Center-line offsides.
B) Floating blue line.
C) Neither A nor B to the exclusion of the other.

5. Should U.S. National teams be selected primarily:
A) Based on performance in tournaments.
B) Based on performance in tryouts.
C) With an eye toward equal geographic representation.
D) That should be solely to the discretion of the GM/Coach.

6. Are there:
A) Too many tournaments.
B) The right amount of tournaments.
C) Too few tournaments.

7. Circle all equipment you feel should be mandatory for men’s tournaments:
A) Helmet.
B) Any kind of gloves.
C) Protective gloves.

8. What is the biggest problem with tournament refereeing?
A) Poor quality.
B) Home-team prejudice; not enough non-local refs imported.
C) Unprofessional behavior of refs; i.e. combative attitude.
D) Top referees overworked; performance slips in latter stages of
tournament.

9. Should there be a mercy rule in tournament games?
A) Yes; extending routs leads to volatile situations.
B) No; teams paid their entry fee and should play complete games.

10. What is your preferred tournament surface?

11. Is your team more likely to attend an indoor tournament than an outdoor
tournament?

12. During which season is your team most likely to attend a tournament?

13. Do ice hockey commitments interfere with your team’s ability to attend
tournaments?
A) Frequently.
B) Occasionally.

14. Is tournament hockey as currently played too physical?
A) Yes.

15. Does tournament hockey as currently played have too much stick work
(i.e. slashing, cross-checking, high-sticking etc.)?

16. Should referees in tournament hockey start calling EVERYTHING (as with
the NHL is 2005-06)?
A) Yes.
B) No, but they should call more.
C) They should keep calling it they way they have been.

17. Should all tournament organizers recognize the carryover of suspensions
for severe infractions from other tournaments?
A) Yes.
B) No.

18. Do successful youth all-star teams result from:
A) The recruitment of top players from ice hockey and other outlets.
B) The building of successful in-house programs with large numbers of
players.
